SUCCESSFUL HISTORY • TALENTED LEADERSHIP
A Long History Of Serving Central Alberta’s Insurance Needs
Ing & McKee Insurance was first registered as a business in 1965, forming from a merger between two insurance agencies known as K. Ing Insurance Associates Ltd. and Botterill McKee Cunningham Real Estate and Insurance Ltd.
Mr. Botterill had been in the business since the 1920s, and was joined by Mr. McKee shortly after World War II. Ken Ing had started his insurance career in Calgary in 1957, returning to Red Deer in 1958 to join Marshall Lee’s Agencies which he bought in 1960 and changed the name to K. Ing Insurance Associates.
K. Ing Insurance Associates began to expand beyond the capacity of their office space at the same time that Botterill McKee Cunningham Real Estate and Insurance was looking for someone to manage the insurance arm of their business.
As the two companies talked, it became clear that a merger would make smart business sense for both of their businesses. Ing & McKee Insurance opened for business on January 1, 1966 in downtown Red Deer, Alberta.
In 1974, Tom Skinner joined the firm as a partner. After 31 years of service to the industry Ken Ing retired, selling his share of the company to Tom Skinner. Tom Skinner retired in 2007, after 33 successful years in the insurance business.
With a long history of talented leadership, Ing & McKee Insurance continues to lead the industry in Central Alberta. Ing & McKee is now owned and operated by Brad Romans, Darcy Cavanaugh, Jeff Skinner and Jonathan Wenger.
